Welcome to the sunny days of July! From eye-wateringly good art exhibitions to brilliant summer reads and the best places to relax and unwind - here's how we'll be enjoying this wonderful month!
Barbican Art Gallery: Lee Krasner - Living Colour
Lee Krasner's art is undoubtedly brilliant and inspiring, however, it is her life story that really grabbed our attention. Often overlooked by her husbands work, Jackson Pollock, Krasner is now receiving the praise she deserves through the first major presentation of her work in Europe in over 50 years. With nearly 100 of her pieces being shown, many of which will be the first time in the UK, this isn't something you want to miss.
AMERICANAH by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
This gripping novel tells the story of an intelligent and strong-willed Nigerian woman, who after she leaves Africa for America, suffers many defeats and triumphs, all while facing something she had never thought of back home: race. Fearless and so very important, it's the kind of book that will stay with you long after you've finished reading it.
Movies on the River
What better way to enjoy a sunny evening than by watching a feel-good movie on the Thames! Playing all the classics, this unique cinematic experience is the perfect way to enjoy watching one of your favourite films whilst the sunsets on the city.
